World Osteoporosis Day 2024: Understanding Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options

Osteoporosis is commonly referred to as the “silent disease.” It is a condition in which bones get weaker, losing density and strength. Bones are prone to fracture as their strength and density decrease. Osteoporosis causes the gaps in the bone’s honeycomb structure to grow, resulting in lowered bone mass and strength. This fragility raises the chance of fractures, even from minor falls or simple actions such as bending.
