What is hyperspermia refers to a condition in which a man ejaculates an unusually large volume of semen during orgasm. The term specifically refers to the volume of semen produced, rather than its quality or the number of sperm it contains. Hyperspermia occurs when the volume of semen exceeds this average range, typically more than 5 mL per ejaculation. In some cases, men with hyperspermia may produce 10 mL or more of semen. A man may produce a larger volume of semen after abstaining from ejaculation for several days, and then ejaculate a large amount when the frequency increases. Some medications or supplements that increase the production of seminal fluid can lead to an increase in semen volume.
