VISITING PLACES IN HARIDWAR

Har ki Pauri is perhaps the most iconic and revered ghat in Haridwar, known for its spiritual significance and historical importance. It is believe to be the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. The name “Har ki Pauri” translates to “footsteps of Lord Shiva,” indicating its sanctity in Hindu mythology.

The main attraction here is the daily Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing ritual of worship that takes place in the evenings. Priests clad in traditional attire perform elaborate ceremonies with lamps, incense, and chanting, creating a captivating ambiance as devotees offer prayers and float diyas (oil lamps) in the river. The sight of hundreds of flickering lamps on the river surface, accompanied by the rhythmic chants, is a spiritual experience that draws people from all walks of life
