Once there was a young maiden named “amethyst” who was a devotee of the goddess Diana and excitingly on her way to offer prays to the deity’s temple. But the fortune held something else for her, she mistakenly crossed paths with Dionysus” or “Bacchus”, the Greek lord of wine, who got angry and, out of rage, unleashed his guarded tigers to kill her. The helpless maiden ran for her life and pleaded with Dianna, who transformed her into a clear quartz stone. Seeing this, Dionysus realized his mistake, shed tears in a wine glass, and poured it over the stone. It transformed the clear stone into the alluring purple crystal that we know as Amethyst today.
