The teaser for Emilia Perez has dropped, providing a first look at Netflix’s upcoming queer crime musical. Starring Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Karla Sofía Gascón, the film is written and directed by Jacques Audiard. The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on November 13.
Emilia Perez centers on Emilia, a cartel boss portrayed by Gascón, who secks to live authentically as her true self. To do so, she enlists the help of an overlooked lawyer, Rita, played by Saldaña, to fake her death. This musical combines crime elements with vibrant song and dance, creating a unique narrative about identity and freedom.
Joining Gascón, Saldaña, and Gomez in the cast are Adriana Paz as Epifanía and Edgar Ramírez as Gustavo. The film is produced by Pascal Caucheteux, Jacques Audiard, Valérie Schermann, and Anthony Vaccarello, with Pauline Lamy as an executive producer.
