The SGPT and SGOT tests have a recognized normal range. However, depending on the laboratory testing method employed, the range can be slightly different.
Normal Range for SGPT (ALT):
7–56 SGOT units/liter (AST) Standard Range:
For men, 8-45 units per liter
5–40 units per liter for women
