The Ogoh-Ogoh Parade is a breathtaking cultural festival held annually in Bali on the eve of Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence. This vibrant and visually striking event showcases enormous, intricately designed puppets known as Ogoh-Ogoh. These towering figures represent malevolent spirits and are meticulously crafted by local communities. The parade symbolises the purification of the environment from negative energies, with each puppet designed to embody mythical creatures or demons. The puppets are paraded through the streets, accompanied by gamelan music and ceremonial chants, creating a dynamic and captivating spectacle that both locals and tourists eagerly anticipate. At the end of the parade, the Ogoh-Ogoh are often burned in a ritual meant to rid the island of evil influences.
