Kedarkantha trek

The Kedarkantha trek is a popular winter trek in Uttarakhand, perfect for beginners seeking a snowy Himalayan adventure. Located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, the trail climbs up to 3,800 meters (12,500 feet) and offers spectacular views of peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, and Kala Nag. Starting from the charming village of Sankri, the trek spans about 5 to 6 days and covers nearly 20 km, winding through pine forests, open meadows, and scenic campsites such as Juda Ka Talab. The final summit push, often done at dawn, rewards trekkers with a stunning sunrise over a white, snow-covered landscape. Though it can be done year-round, the trek is most magical in December to April when the snow transforms the region into a true winter wonderland. It’s ideal for first-time trekkers and nature lovers alike.
