Dr. John DenBoer is a former Clinical Neuropsychologist and the Founder of SMART Brain Aging, Inc., specializing in early-stage dementia detection and prevention. He developed a cognitive exercise program called SMART, aimed at helping individuals mitigate the cognitive effects of early-stage dementia. As an expert speaker, he has presented on Alzheimer’s dementia prevention at numerous national and international conferences and authored the book “This is Dementia,” which is also featured in a Netflix documentary of the same name. Dr. DenBoer’s educational background includes a B.S. and B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Carroll College, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute. He aims to become a national thought leader in dementia education and expand his outreach internationally, particularly in developing countries facing rising dementia cases, to educate societies on assessment and mitigation strategies for the impending increase in dementia over the next 10-15 years.
