FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. is a comprehensive Foreign Worker’s Health Screening System in Malaysia that serves on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. FOMEMA closely monitors the health status of Foreign Workers for MOH through its registered panel clinics across Malaysia.
In this project, IQ plan is to make radiographers and doctors of FOMEMA panel clinics conversant in AI for reading foreign workers chest X-ray images.

IQ designs deep learning solutions using artificial intelligence (AI). We primarily serve the healthcare industry with an aim to modernize and minimize medical negligence, mainly misdiagnosis.
- Our current goal is to eradicate the communicable disease, tuberculosis in Malaysia.
- Our AI is used to screen foreign workers whom are potentially be employed in Malaysia.
- Our AI is usually trained is using a large pool of data, amounting to approximately millions.
- It has the ability to identify abnormality on X-rays, CT scan and MRI.
The efficiency of our product are tested and even commercialised in many healthcare facilities. We ensure every algorithm is thoroughly researched and validated through multiple studies.
OUR PROJECT
- In 2021, IQ managed to acquire a FOMEMA project. FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. is a comprehensive Foreign Worker’s Health Screening System in Malaysia that serves on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.
- FOMEMA closely monitors the health status of Foreign Workers for MOH through its registered panel clinics across Malaysia.
- There are 900 panel clinics of FOMEMA that conduct Foreign Workers’ medical examination for FOMEMA.
- The medical examination comprises of two – blood screening and tuberculosis detection using chest X-ray images.
- IQ is the vendor for the second examination.
- In this project, IQ plan is to make radiographers and doctors of FOMEMA panel clinics conversant in AI for reading foreign workers chest X-ray images.
- As FOMEMA screens foreign workers for tuberculosis through their chest X-ray images, our AI has been trained with 60,000 foreign workers chest X-Ray images provided by FOMEMA.
- Our AI can detect the normal and abnormality in chest X-ray images as per the interpretation of pathology effect of tuberculosis approved by FOMEMA.
PACS is a secure communication platform that allows the transfer of X-ray images in the form of Dicom Study between panel clinic modality and IQ Cloud Server via Dicom network protocol. Our AI is placed at IQ Cloud Server. While transmitting a Dicom Study, the received Dicom Study at IQ Cloud Server will be read by AI to provide AI-processed results before being sent back to MERTS for users’ view.
