How Long Does It Take To Climb Mount Everest

Climbing Mount Everest is no easy feat and takes much more than physical stamina—it demands time, patience, and preparation. So, how long does it take to climb Mount Everest? On average, the entire expedition lasts about 60 to 65 days. This timeline includes acclimatization, trekking to base camp, and waiting for favorable weather windows. 🏔️

Arrival & Acclimatization (10-14 days): Most climbers arrive at Everest Base Camp and spend time acclimatizing to the altitude. This helps prevent altitude sickness and prepares the body for the extreme conditions higher up.  ⏳

Climbing the Higher Camps (4-6 weeks): After acclimatization, climbers start rotating between the base camp and higher camps. There are four key camps, and the journey involves making multiple trips between them to adjust to the thinning air. Climbers gradually work their way up the mountain, setting up and stocking camps along the way.  🌬️

Summit Push (5-7 days): Once fully acclimatized, climbers wait for the right weather window to make their final push to the summit. This is the most dangerous and challenging part, with climbers spending only a few minutes at the top before descending due to the lack of oxygen.

Overall Time: Including acclimatization and weather delays, it takes about 2 months to complete the climb.   🏞️
