About Dr. Suresh Advani
Dr. Suresh Advani is a renowned oncologist who has made significant contributions to the field of cancer care in India. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a life-saving treatment for various blood cancers and other diseases.
Born in 1947, Dr. Advani faced adversity early in life, contracting polio at the age of eight.
Despite this challenge, he persevered and pursued his medical education at Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He later specialized in haematology-oncology at the Tata Memorial Centre and gained further expertise in bone marrow transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
