The Dodital trek is scenic and spiritually significant in Uttarakhand, leading to the tranquil Dodital Lake at an altitude of about 3,310 meters. Surrounded by dense oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, the lake is considered the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, adding cultural depth to its natural charm. Starting from Agoda Village near Uttarkashi, the trek typically spans 5 to 6 days, covering roughly 22 km, with an optional extension to Darwa Pass (4,150 m) for expansive views of the Himalayas. Rated easy to moderate, it’s perfect for beginners and nature lovers. Best visited between March to June and September to December, the trail offers rich birdlife, peaceful campsites, and a refreshing immersion into Garhwali mountain life, making it a rewarding experience for trekkers of all levels.
